Erins Hyper Blog

Well, since I talked to you guys on Monday morning my life has been quite busy.  I got a call about 10am on Monday asking me if I would be interested in doing a couple of scenes for someone else’s movie label. Even though I really wasn’t interested in traveling right before Christmas I said yes.  With this economy, as you all know, one has to jump on opportunities when they present themselves, so I went for the paycheck.  It was still fun, but it was even more fun to return with a few extra dollars in my pocket to put in the bank. 

I left Monday afternoon and returned on Wednesday morning and headed straight to my family’s Christmas party.  It was quite a long day, but was so nice to be able to see everyone and yes, to eat a little too much food and veg out on the couch.  I spent the night there and woke up Christmas morning with a head cold…thanks Santa, and headed back home to host Christmas at my house for other friends and family. 

I cooked dinner for 10 plus for my doggies…they had to have Christmas dinner too.  We sat around all afternoon and just chilled out and caught up.  It was a nice day!

Yesterday I headed out to visit some other family in North Carolina.  I’m going to be here until Monday morning and then I’m headed home.  I hadn’t planned on even getting on my computer here, but I went ahead and got an air card so I could get online.  I just couldn’t go without being able to check my email and the site for that many days.

I’ll be back home for a few days and then will be headed north for a few stops to visit friends after the first of the year.  I’ll also be planning on doing several content shoots along the way.  It’s going to be a very busy new year.

Ok…well, family is getting up and I really don’t want them to check out what I’m doing and asking what I’m typing so I’m signing out.  I’ll talk to you all soon.

My shopping is done, my baking is nearly finished, the house is decorated and ready for Christmas and thank goodness, because it’s so cold outside that I don’t even want to stick my head out.  The snow is gone, but the temperatures have bottomed out and it’s just miserable.  My friends in Reno and Chicago called and they are buried with snow and my friends in Northern Kentucky are feeling the cold too.  I hope you all are ready for Christmas and aren’t having to deal with too much bad weather.

I’m traveling for Christmas Eve and then back home to host Christmas Day at my house.  I’ll be hitting the road after that and heading out to visit other family and friends both near and far, so it will be a very busy next week.  I plan to be back home before New Year’s Eve and will probably host activities at my house.  I want to be able to kick back and enjoy myself and not have to worry about the crazies at the bars and on the roads.  It’s much safer for everyone to just be able to stay where they are and be able to flop down when they’re ready.

Ok, back to site stuff…I just put up an update that looks pretty scary, but it really wasn’t.  It was done at the specific request of a site member and it was set up to look scary and intimidating, but I just want to reassure everyone that I was ok and that it wasn’t nearly as scary as it looked.  It was staged as he requested and my reactions go with the scene.  I was never hurt or really upset…just think of it like you would when watching a movie…it’s just acting.

I hope that everyone has enjoyed their weekends and will be able to kick back and relax today…like me.  It’s been a crazy, exciting, busy, historic and monumental month of November and it’s only the 9th…what could we have to look forward to next…?

I’ve been in Chicago for the last week, shooting content and playing with friends. I had the honor of being in the city on election night. I didn’t get down to Grant Park because I was shooting all day and they closed down that area before I could get in.  I did celebrate the election returns and Barack’s speech in a Chicago bar with lots of fellow friends and Democrats.  There were lots of cheers and tears; it not only felt historic, it felt right.

I got home Friday..and have enjoyed a couple of days at home and now I’m preparing to go back out on the road.  I leave tomorrow for two days, then back home for a few and then gone again.  This is way more travel than I had originally planned for this month, but I’m looking to December and Christmas and knowing that I’ll be a home body most of the month…(I have a Chicago friend that’s offered to take me Christmas shopping, so I can’t hardly turn that down:)

For today though I’m watching football and staying bundled up while I work on editing some new videos and on the clip store.  I also downloaded some new tunes on iTunes this morning that I’m checking out before football starts…so rock on, stay rock hard and I’ll see ya soon.

It’s been a fabulous weekend!  I got to do some amazing activities, and no, believe it or not, they weren’t sexual.  I got to travel, meet new people, be treated like a queen and then return to my quiet, cozy home where I was greeted by some fresh flowers and a crock pot filled with beef stew (one of my favorite comfort foods).  A friend of mine apparently came over while I was gone and cleaned my house, and set out the flowers and the stew so they would be here when I got home.  It was the perfect end to the weekend.

I have a few days to enjoy at home.  I’m sitting here now in my favorite chair wrapped in a cozy blanket, and I will probably be spending a lot of the day here working.  Could be worse…I could be in the office working…this is much more comfortable.  I’ll be leaving for Chicago on Sunday for 5 days and then home for 3 days and then off to Louisville for a couple days, home for a week and then off to DC for 5 days, then back home for Thanksgiving.  It’s a whirlwind month, but it does have it’s rewards…NO planned travel in December.  I’ll be enjoying December at home and getting ready for the Christmas holidays.  It’s my favorite holiday of the year and I love to decorate, and bake, and entertain friends and family.

I wanted to check in with everyone, but now I need to go answer your emails and do a little web work.  Stay warm…

Have you ever had one of those days when you woke up with a crazy, busy mind and the speed of your thoughts just escalates until you’re almost dizzy?  That was my day yesterday….I got up in a pretty good mood, but with a very busy mind and it seemed that the more I got done the busier my mind got with even more things to do.  By the evening, I was just short tempered and agitated and ready to bite someone’s face off.  No one had done anything to me and my agitation wasn’t directed at anyone in particular, my poor brain was just overwhelmed.

After drawing the line on my to-do list for the day, I decided to sit down with a hot toddy.  I never drink that stuff, (I’m more of a clear liquor kind of girl) but a friend recommended it to me and being at my wits end, decided it couldn’t hurt.  I thoroughly enjoyed the first one and was starting to feel much more calm.  On to the second…at the end of that cup even watching John McCain on CNN didn’t piss me off.  Ahhh, bliss! LOL

I crashed out on the couch for the rest of the evening watching Sex in the City on DVD.  I loved watching that show on HBO and the movie brought back great memories.

This morning when I woke up, all was right with the world.  Thank you my friend for your suggestion of the hot toddy…it helped re-boot my attitude…oh and the vibrator didn’t hurt either.

This probably isn’t the place to post this, but oh well….

It’s Saturday night, and I bet you would expect me to be out on the town.  Tonight, my party time is consisting of a glass of wine and a plate of heated up left overs and surrounded by paperwork, my computer and both dogs.  Whoo hoo…what a hot time!

If I’m productive tonight, tomorrow night I’m going to reward myself to dinner out and a movie with friends.  I haven’t decided what movie I want to see…there are several out there that I think will be good, but I need to focus on work tonight and if I’m a “good girl”…lol…then I can think about fun plans in the morning.

You guys…PLEASE…write in the forum. Tell me what you’re doing…tell me what you like and don’t like. I love to interact with everyone and it makes me sad when you all don’t keep in touch.  Plus, you guys are all so cool, I want you to get to know each other too.

How did a week pass already since I wrote last? It seems that the days and the summer are really flying by.  Everyday seems to be filled to the brim with activities and work and before I know it 6am turns into midnight and it’s time to fall into bed again and I’m nowhere near finished with what I wanted to accomplish.  Do you all ever feel like that?  So much to do and just not enough time?

Maybe I set my goals too high for each day. Maybe if I change my expectations to accomplish a little less and then am able to do more I’ll feel better and not feel like I’ve fallen short of what I needed to do.  Sounds good…but there’s always so much to do and so many people waiting for me to do more.

I don’t mean to sound like I’m bitching…I’m glad to be busy and I’m glad that there’s work to do.  I just wish I could do it more efficiently or could go through the next year or so and not need to sleep.  I might actually be able to get caught up.

Ok…enough yacking…it’s off to the to do list…

It’s a beautiful morning and I’m headed out shopping.  Now you guys know I don’t really like to shop, but today I’m armed with a list and I’m on a mission.  I need to pick up a new desktop computer (that I’m dedicating to video and movie editing) and a new desk.  My old one is just that…old and too small to serve it’s purpose anymore.  I’m doing an upgrade day…lol.

I’m also headed to the spa to get my toenails done.  I have to do something to pamper myself after standing on my feet all day and shopping.  There’s nothing like a good pedicure.  Have you ever had one? The massage is the best part…and speaking of massage, I think I’m due for one of those too.  All these long nights of sitting at the desk and all the travel I’ve done lately turning myself into a pretzel to shoot good video…I think I’m deserving.
