Change is coming!

by erin on Jan.19, 2009, under Politics

I just got home a couple of days ago from traveling and am already making plans to hit the road again.  This is going to be a busy 2009!  AVN attendance was down this year and a lot of people that I hook up with to shoot cancelled out so I ended up not going either.  Instead of spending a week in Vegas where it was 65-70 degrees, I spent a week in Chicago where it was 20 below.  Yikes!  It was a good week and I had a lot of fun, but damn it was frickin’ cold!

I got back and my poor dogs were so depressed. I guess they thought I was never going to come home.  This was a particularly long trip, I was gone for over 10 days and I was ready to be home too.  I’ll get to chill out with them and spend some quality time before hitting the road again the first week of February.  No rest for the weary girl…lol.

Tomorrow I plan to be in front of the TV to participate in the Inauguration events. I’m ready for this to be official.  This whole transition has seemed to take a long time.  I guess I’m just ready for Bush to be out the door and for Obama and his team to officially be able to start making some changes.  I know it’s going to take a long time to right the ship, but it’s definitely time for a change.  Are you guys going to watch?  Any fellow Obama supporters out there?

This morning me and the boys (my dogs) are headed over to the animal shelter to do a little volunteer work.  The doggies over there need a little attention and my dogs love to go play with their friends.  It’s really very cute.

I hope you all are staying warm, having fun, and enjoying the new year.  Keep your heads up…things are going to change for the better!

Elections and BS soon to be over

by erin on Oct.11, 2008, under Politics

It’s football time…getting ready to settle in and watch the Oklahoma / Texas game and flip back and forth with Kentucky / S. Carolina.  I have some computer work to knock out, but one of my eyes will be on the games today.  There’s also a NASCAR race tonight, but I haven’t decided yet if I’m going to watch it.  I got so disgusted last week when Dale Jr. got caught up in a wreck in the last few laps that I just don’t know if I can stomach watching another race this season.  Jimmy Johnson is in the points lead…and that makes me as sick as anything…so I think my NASCAR watching is over this season.

Something else I’m ready to get over with is the election.  I’m so ready to vote and for something to be decided and to stop watching all these stupid negative ads that all the politicians run.  It’s just bombardment, and I’m sick of it.  No one tells the truth, they spin it to fit their needs and don’t think that the public will know the difference.  I, like many others, am concerned about the economy, healthcare, education, and other ISSUES…not the BS.

The last debate is on Wednesday and then there will be a little over two weeks until election day. So, let’s focus on the issues and not partisanism, radicalism, and BS.

Bailouts, sex and the debate

by erin on Oct.03, 2008, under Politics

Damn, it’s cold this morning!  I actually broke down and turned on my furnace…my fingers were too cold to type.  I love the cooler weather in general and Fall is probably my favorite season of the year (Spring being a close second).  The changing colors, lower humidity, nice days and cooler nights…ahhh, no more sweaty, humid days for awhile.

September, as you probably noticed from my lack of posting was a busy month.  I was on the road a lot shooting content, doing promotions, and working on a couple of new business ideas.  I travelled to Lexington, Louisville, St. Louis, Springfield, Chicago, Indianapolis, Nashville and Atlanta and a few small towns in between.  It was a trip filled with both playtime and paperwork…but the playtime was certainly more fun.

I finally returned home last Thursday evening and dug in around the house to catch up…I will admit that I’ve taken my time and actually have been a little lazy about the speed I’ve been working at things, but damn, I was tired and felt like taking things slow.  It’s been a week, but now everything is caught up and I feel much more rested.  Last night, I took the time to site down and watch the Vice Presidential debate.  I will admit that I thought it would be much more of a train wreck than it turned out to be, but it was actually more entertaining than the Presidential debate.  My views of the candidates are still the same, but I love to see them answer or choose not to answer direct questions.  I won’t get on my political soap box, but all politicians are full of hot air, promises they can’t keep, and double talk.  I guess we have to work with what we have…so my guy is Obama…I’ll be with Jack Cafferty from CNN…if John McCain wins, I’m moving to Chili…lol

Now the bailout or shall we call it the rescue plan….what do you guys think?  I probably don’t have the full understanding of the economy as I should, but it’s hard for me to stomach rescuing these banks and investment firms that have made horrible decisions.  I would feel much better if the heads of these companies were going to be prosecuted and actually lose something.  They need our taxpayer dollars to bail them out and I don’t see them having to deal with any serious consequences of their greed.

Ok…enough serious stuff…it’s depressing…I need a vibrator session…anyone want to watch?
