Gloom, Despair and Agony on me…No, not really.

by erin on Jun.11, 2009, under Friends, Just me, My Travels

A friend once told me that I should have my own chartered jet for my travel.  I told him, that I hate to fly and that I could never afford a private jet…now I wish I could win the powerball so I could buy one.  I am a traveling fool lately and going by plane would certainly be faster then all the road miles I put on the caravan of cars that we all take to travel from location to location.

I’ve been to Louisville, Indy, Atlanta and am heading to Chicago, then Lexington, Nashville and finally back home.  I should get to spend a total of 10 days home this month.  It seems like the day or two here and there when I do make it home it storms…ughhhhhh!

Ever had those days when you wish you could retire and run away from it all? That’s the day I’m having today.  I love what I do, but sometimes I just feel like I need a break from everything.  Maybe what I need is a good vacation…!

I know how you feel Erin! I wish I could just drop everything and go on a permanent vacation.

It seems I have let my business take over my life and I don’t make enough time for myself. I’m still kicking myself for not putting the business on hold and taking a trip to Carson City when you were at B.R. I guess I assumed you’d always be there and I would eventually find the time to make it there :(

I’ve been watching this program called Departures. It’s about 2 friends (actually 3 but one is rarely ever seen as he’s the cameraman) that dropped everything and decided to travel the World for a year. After the year was up, they couldn’t stop and continued their travels.

They don’t do the regular brochure type travels either. They have been to some of the most beautiful places that very few have set eyes on. Tops of mountains, desert (the oasis in the middle of the desert they went to was amazing and they were the only ones there), rain forests, glaciers, they’ve traveled on every continent. My words don’t give it justice because you have to watch it to truly get the feel out what they do, where they go and who they meet. They do a great job of capturing the experiences of the people that they meet along the way too, along with capturing the beauty this world has to offer.

This is something I think I need to do while I’m still young (in my 30’s) before I completely lose my life in my business. Travel the world!

Now, I could think of one person I would love to do that with…Those gallery pics of yours have me Daye dreaming about you and me at that desert oasis all alone :-)

Wow! Your one busy girl burning the candle on both ends. I do know how you feel. As for me, I too get burned out at times, but I always find and outlet to detox from life’s stresses. Hiking or trails seem very therapeutic for me soaking in the the outdoors and just being away from the city and hanging out with my friends. Gurl, you definitely need a vacation like a spa vacation to rejuvenate your body and mind. Just veg-out and relax and be pampered. You know the Nike saying, “Just Do It!” I know you’ll feel better. :- )
